The Immersion open-source library allows anyone with a basic knowledge of JavaScript to create immersive virtual reality and web experiences. It is built on WebXR and uses the babylon.js real-time 3D engine, based on the idea that the web is the best foundation for building an open network of virtual experiences.
The library was originally developed in January 2022 as part of Immersions.art (now decommissioned), a platform that hosted immersive experiences by guest artists. No virtual real estate, no noisy audio chat, and no game score to distract from the artistic experience.
Since then, the project has undergone major updates and evolved into a library capable of powering everything from simple point-and-click games to cinematic 3D replays.

“Art is the shortest route between human beings” (André Malraux).
It is an opportunity for men and women to share inner experiences, to get into somebody else’s mind and enter their universe.
Virtual reality allows us to explore universes that would be inconceivable otherwise.
It still has the power to make us pause and take the time to experience things that are out of the ordinary.
