Growing slightly tired of static video production, I wanted to explore a more immediate format suited to live mixing. I developed an iPad VJ app and macro pad to generate endless loops from 3D assets created in Blender and Gravity Sketch.
It offered a different way to experience my 3D universes, something more immediate and performative. Possibly to be revisited in the future.
I was particularly happy with the retro-neon aesthetic that emerged. More importantly, it opened another way of exploring my digital projects. A recurring interest in my work is how a universe can surface across multiple forms — video, gamespace, narrative and non-narrative structures, articulated or fragmented.
